February 14th saw our very first face to face demonstration at our new venue, and the first for a very long time.
The demonstrator for the evening was Quentin Smith of QJS Marquetry
Quentin talked us through the principles of Marquetry and fittingly his first creation was of a Valentine Rose.
He then went on to demonstrate how to make decorative bands that could be incorporated into our turnings.
He had brought with him for sale, some kits and veneers, which were eagerly snapped up by the members.
All in all a very informative and interesting demonstration.
