How often do you do maintenance on your lathe?
- clean dust shavings from the motor casing using a brush
- check the bed bars for rust spots/spilt sealers or oil
- check wiring for any signs of damage
- check tool rest banjo
- check the tool rest, file smooth if necessary
- lubricate if required
- check tools, handles can work loose in the summer
- check your band-saw. unplug before cleaning
- check the grinder. (cracks in wheels can be dangerouse if they fly off)
- Is your overhead lighting sufficient
- carefully dispose of oily rags.
- remove trip hazards
