February Show and Tell
Tonight the club welcomed four of it's own members in a Show and Tell.
John Haig, Albert Cliff, Frank Simpson and Tom Buttress kept us all entertained making this one of the best club nights that I can remember.
We started off with John explaining how he makes his elegant bracelets with veneers for decoration. John's dry humour and obvious enthusiasm for what he does was infectious and I am certain that many of the audience will be trying this project in the weeks to come.
We have all admired Albert's segmented turning and tonight he didn't disappoint. He managed to inspire us all with his segmented clock face, however the amount of maths involved did create some funny moments and much scratching of heads.
After coffee, Frank demonstrated a pine cone hedgehog, an ideal piece for those who do craft shows.
The night ended with Tom, filling in at short notice, turning a small pendant with a really simple way of using your scroll chuck to off centre turn the centre of the pendant.
A big thanks to them all — it is not easy to stand up and talk about what you do but these four did a fantastic job and the skills shared and the banter between the demonstrators and the audience made this a very enjoyable evening.
