Another good night with Tracy Owen. As Geoff Whitehead was taken ill, Tracy filled the evening at short notice and did a great job, showing us another new technique. He showed us how to turn a 'Saturn' bowl, using off-centre turning techniques. although the lathe was jumping about with the unbalanced chunk of ash, Tracy followed the lathe around and produced a gorgeous bowl.
After a brew, he turned quickly a vase in spalted beech, using bowl gouges only. Tracy's scraping technique was interesting as he has now gone over to the dark side and scrapes up bank, albeit in the shear scrape mode!
Anybody who demonstrates knows that a lot of work goes into putting on an evening, so thanks again Tracy for your professionalism.
Get well soon, Anita, who is recovering from a knee op.
Anita plays for the Clayton Cloggers Ladies Team and has now relinquished the centre forward position in favour of a centre half role!
